On Saturday, April 5, 2025, the community rallied together at the Chester Upland STEM Academy as more than 450 youth, parents, caregivers, and community members participated in the 2025 Annual Spring Youth & Family Summit.
The event, hosted in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Chester, Chester Upland School District, DELCORA, the CAAT Center, and Keystone First, offered a day full of engagement, enrichment, and empowerment for all who attended.
The Summit opened on a high note with an exhilarating performance by the Edgemont School Steppers, followed by the melodic voices of the Main Street School Choir—setting a spirited and uplifting tone for the day.
Distinguished guests, including Chester Upland School District Superintendent Dr. Mumin, District Receiver Mr. Nichols, School Board President Ms. Amanda Johnson, and Boys & Girls Club of Chester CEO Mr. Billups, delivered inspiring remarks. Each spoke to the importance of community collaboration, youth development, and the power of creating safe and nurturing spaces for families to thrive.
The youth participants enjoyed an exciting mix of hands-on activities throughout the day. From soccer games and a vibrant game room to cupcake decorating, lava lamp-making, bag decorating, and music exploration—there was something for everyone to enjoy and discover.
Meanwhile, parents and caregivers were offered the opportunity to unwind during a special relaxation and stress-reduction workshop. The session focused on wellness and self-care, providing a space to “relax, relate, and release.”
Throughout the Summit, attendees participated in raffles and activities for a chance to win fun prizes. The day concluded with an electric performance by the Dancing Divas, whose precision and energy brought the crowd to its feet and provided a perfect end to a powerful day of community connection and celebration.
The Boys & Girls Club of Chester's Drug Free Communities is proud to have once again played a role in bringing families, youth, and partners together to celebrate growth, joy, and resilience in our community. We thank all who participated and supported this meaningful event.
